A stall partition must resist impact while remaining smooth, cleanable and forgiving of ordinary movement. It also shapes airflow and social contact.
A durable wall is therefore a layered system: structure, infill, fasteners, edge protection and an inspection plan.
Penn State Extension notes that partitions should be at least about seven and a half feet high, with eight feet common, because horses can kick high or place a leg over a low wall.
Posts, frames and anchors must transfer impact into the building safely.

Removable partitions can create a larger stall for a mare and foal, a large horse or rehabilitation. The release mechanism must be secure during normal use yet practical for trained staff.
Utilities should not cross a removable panel.

Flexibility has commercial value only if staff can change the system without unsafe lifting or improvised tools.
