Hopehorse Journey to Guizhou

A Team Retreat Through Mountains, Culture, and Memories

In the middle of a bustling year, June offered us a soft pause—an invitation to step away from the familiar and into the unknown. The Hopehorse team answered that call, journeying to Guizhou, a land of ancient rhythms, misty mountains, and stories carved in stone.

We left not to escape work, but to reconnect—with nature, with culture, and with each other.

Yelang Valley | Stones That Speak

Our first stop was the Yelang Valley, a surreal dreamscape where rocks rise like forgotten guardians of a bygone kingdom.

Shaped by time and the wind, each stone seemed to carry its own secret, a silent legend waiting to be read.
We wandered curiously, laughed freely, and let our minds drift in this place where the boundaries between imagination and reality blurred.

In Yelang, the earth speaks in strange and wonderful shapes—and we listened.

Xiaoqikong (Little Seven Arches) | A Beauty Behind the Rain

We had hoped to walk across the mossy bridges and emerald waters of Xiaoqikong, one of Guizhou's most iconic scenic spots.

But the sky opened up in a heavy rain, and nature gently told us: “Not today.”
Though the gate was closed, our hearts stayed open.
We pivoted—and in doing so, stumbled upon something equally valuable: Zhaoxing Dong Village.

Zhaoxing Dong Village | Time Slows Down Here

Rain-slicked stone paths. Wooden stilt houses wrapped in mist. Echoes of drums and songs drifting on mountain wind.

In Zhaoxing, we didn't rush to check things off a list. We simply walked, watched, listened.
We tasted handmade snacks, shared smiles with local artisans, and let the village’s calm rhythm carry us for a while.

It wasn't just a visit. It was a moment of stillness in motion.

Xijiang Miao Village | Color, Costume, Connection

Evening fell as we arrived at Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, a hillside aglow with lanterns and life.
Here, tradition meets celebration—each house, each alley, alive with memory.

We dressed in elaborate Miao costumes, taking portraits that felt like scenes from ancient epics.

At night, we gathered for a vibrant Long Table Banquet, where food and wine flowed, and every toast came with a warm welcome and laughter in every dialect.

To dine here is not to eat, but to be embraced.

Huangguoshu Waterfall | From Page to Presence

And then, at last—the mighty Huangguoshu Waterfall.
Once a poetic line in our childhood textbooks, now a thunderous, awe-inspiring reality.

Standing before its roaring cascade, we felt humbled, exhilarated, and strangely at home.
We were no longer just reading about wonders—we were living them.

Some dreams take years to reach. But they're worth every step.

The Return | Our Journey Doesn't End Here

As we boarded the train home, it was clear: this trip had given us more than scenery.
It gave us stories we'll carry. Bonds we've strengthened. A new rhythm to bring back to the workplace.

At Hopehorse, we believe that behind every excellent product is a team that feels seen, valued, and inspired.
This journey to Guizhou reminded us that great work doesn’t begin at a desk—it begins in the shared moments between colleagues, in laughter, in exploration, in trust.

Hopehorse —We don't just build stables.

We build connection, passion, and a life worth galloping toward.

A journey, a growth.

Though our few days were touched by unpredictable weather, neither the stunning scenery nor the warmth of the people was ever absent. This Guizhou team retreat was not only a chance to relax and recharge but also a voyage to deepen our team's bond.

At Hopehorse, we firmly believe that a great team is more than walking side by side—it is about remembering each other's direction through every mountain climbed and every river crossed.

Looking ahead, we will continue to walk hand in hand, chasing horizons beyond the mountains and seas.
